Trees | Fine Art Tree Photography

My love for trees started at an early age, while visiting the Kruger National Park I would get lost in the sight of all the “dead” trees peeking out. Also from stories that I read about them in books, these majestic creatures made a huge impact in my life. There is just something magical about them, a surreal feeling they present. They are all similar yet so disparate from one another. I think my attraction towards them also comes from mindfulness. Being in nature lying under a tree makes you realize how small you are in comparison with this world and the universe as a whole. They are relaxing just to look at, to observe them, to hear the sound of the leaves crackling in the wind, they speak with us in a language of their own. I am still unsure as to why I love them so much, but I think it is because they are just incredible species. They communicate and help each other, the turn carbon dioxide into oxygen, they give life to so many other forms, from mushrooms to moss to small insects and giving sanctuary to birds. They are just love-able, without judgement and there to help each other and our beautiful planet. Sometimes I wish I could have a conversation with them, imagine all the things they have seen and witnessed for thousands and thousands of years, but them being silent gives them an even stronger presence…

This magical tree reminded me of J.R.R. Tolkien’s art of The Lord of the Rings
